In the proud language of the Maasai people, our forefathers, Irpayan o’ Ng’era refers
to the Elderly and the Children respectively. We have selected
this name to represent our Organisation, for these two groups are the most
important and the most vulnerable in the society of modern Tanzania. The
Elderly, we respect for what they have done for us; the Children, we entrust
with the very future of our land.
Our Vision is one of ambition:
We continue to strive towards the establishment of a society
in which all members and particularly the children and the elderly will
have access to equitably distributed resources so as to lead respectable
and joyful lives.
INO is a non-governmental and non-profitable organization which aims at supporting primarily orphan and vulnerable children of limited or no means of support and disabled aged people. Moreover we have extended our efforts to include our fellow citizens that live with HIV/AIDS. INO represents a partnership of positive ideas that resulted in the year 2003 from the orchestrated efforts of five founders; initially these idealists worked as a cohesive team that visited the homes of the needy in selected areas in an attempt to assist their fellow citizens. Their only resource at the time was naturally their personal salaries.
As time went on, so increased the size of the target groups in need of help. In the year 2007 INO was registered, under the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Act of 2002, as an NGO under the registration No. 00NGO/1442.
Curently the achievements of INO may be witnessed all around the Arusha
employment market. The INO-sponsored graduates are solicited everywhere
and are employed as teachers, hoteliers, tour guides, carpenters, mechanics
to name but a few.
Furthermore the Organisation has recently participated in three cardinal Government Campaigns on HIV/AIDS, Drug Abuse and Environmental Protection. On the latter issue, INO has initiated a tree nursery in the area of Mianzini, Arusha from where seedlings are supplied to be planted in a variety of selected places in an attempt to combat land degradation. It is evident therefore that our Organisation has not solely been focussing on sustaining the children and the elders (or any other societal group) in need but it makes an effort to answer any call for help for the benefit of the entire community.
INO is currently active in three regions of Northern Tanzania, namely Arusha, Manyara and Kilimanjaro; The Headquarter is situated in Arusha the region from where the Organisation originated.
