Volunteering ::
It is quite evident from the analysis thus far that the projects we are involved
with require a sense of commitment and a self devotion that often surpasses
the demands of an average ‘office job’. It is for this reason that we have
always solicited the invaluable support of volunteers.
Volunteers may assume an extensive variety of duties and tasks within the
scope of INO’s projects based on their experience and knowledge. Specifically
they may wish to:
Volunteers may be involved with the organisation and logistics of the supplies
collection and distribution. Alternatively they may wish to take part in
the hope-giving and consolation support to many of our needy.
Volunteers are welcome to manage our series of three to five day seminars series both from an organisational perspective but also from a lecturing point of view; if the expertise is present, our visitors are encouraged to teach and even propose the subject matter for a seminar.
Qualified or experienced volunteers are encouraged to teach and work in the context of the St John Vocational and Training Centre; they may wish to tutor our orphan class, help our secondary school children or even lecture in any course offered at the vocational level.
Enthusiastic young volunteers coming from various countries are often endowed with a wealth of new and creative ideas such as new ways of organising our projects, cash generating initiatives and fund raising techniques! Our Management team is here to discuss, adapt and adopt promising new thought processes.
Our volunteers may choose between staying at the fully functional building of the NGO Headquarters (located in the town of Arusha) and a home-stay with anyone of our host families in the greater vicinity of our premises.
Fees are structured to cover all costs (including housing and utilities, a food allowance, airport transport, supplies, administration etc.). Payment consists of a weekly fee set at US$ 180. Discounts may be available only in the case of stays longer than six months.
Please let us know why you wish to volunteer and what made you choose us; how did you hear about us and how do you think you may be able to contribute to bring our vision to life. Send us your questions or comments and feel free to use our email or even call us anytime.
